I STAND AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

 

According to UN Women, one in three individuals experiences violence — a human rights violation that threatens the lives of women and girls from all over the world. As the current situation worsens, more and more women are being kept silenced by their oppressors; having limited to no means of access and awareness about the available services they can reach out to for support.

Recent data have shown that all forms of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, have increased in number. With the focus being centered on health services, victims had nowhere else to go, as they sought shelter from the violence they experienced.

The 911 emergency hotline is now catering to emergencies related to gender-based violence (GBV) and violence against women and children (VAWC).
