What is Gender-Based Violence?


GBV is a violation of human rights and a crime against ALL genders. 

Gender-based violence is a universal problem, and the solution to this problem requires all of us, men and women, to work together. Today, we will take part in raising awareness about gender-based violence and addressing the issue.

Recent data have shown that all forms of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, have increased in number. With the focus being centered on health services, victims had nowhere else to go, as they sought shelter from the violence they experienced. The 911 emergency hotline is now catering to emergencies related to gender-based violence (GBV) and violence against women and children (VAWC).
